SENIOR OFFICER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

JOB PURPOSE

Within the assigned region, the Senior Officer-IT holds the responsibility of offering IT support, supervising BRAC’s computer systems, networks and IT infrastructure to guarantee their efficient use.Accountable for keeping an updated IT asset register at the Regional level. The officer is entrusted with supporting the day-to-day business operations within the region.

Support IT Strategic Planning and Implementation.

• Work with the Manager IT to develop an IT strategic plan in alignment with the BRAC’s strategic direction.

• Work with the IT Manager to cascade and implement the IT strategic plan to but not limited to the specific region of assignment.

• Direct and coordinate the local implementation of BRAC IT operations, projects and programs, ensuring alignment of IT services with the business needs of the area (s) and adherence to established project management principles and best management practices.

• Liaise with line Government ministries, partners, and other stakeholders through working groups,technical working groups and others as assigned by the IT manager.

IT Support & End User Capacity Building

• Build the capacity of staff in BRAC systems and resolve basic IT-related challenges.

• Provide first-line assistance to users when problems with systems arise and escalate where necessary and share feedback to users.

• Provide direct support to end users to ensure quality, functional,contemporary and secure IT systems,the ERP, internet, tools and equipment in the assigned area.

• Support to ensure effective usage of all BRAC systems (ERP, HMIS, Afya App among others)

• In-depth analysis of the dashboard data for the team consumption to guide decision making.

IT Asset Register Management.

• Maintain an up-to-date regional IT asset register of all IT devices Laptop, External Hard Disks, Desktops, Phones, Tables, Services, Network devices (switches,routers, access points etc…)

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read, understand, practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Follow the Safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.

• Implement policies and standard operating procedures consistent with those of BRAC to ensure effective operations of the organisation.

• Ensure effective IT policy implementation through creating awareness and technical guidance to staff.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or Computer engineering.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

• At least 5 years  of Experience working in a busy IT environment.Experience  in working with projects is an added advantage.
